Probably a place for the rich who enjoys plush luxurious ambience to enjoy the normal hawker buffet fare. But it's an expensive place to have such food for a bourgeois or peasant (more accurate i think ;)) like me. But ...sometimes you do feel like giving yourself a BIG treat to a grand place for simple food, don't you ?... so bet this will be it. Been there for about 4 times with my hubby, same thing - we went there on special occasions before Carousel opened. It seems like the only 5 star hotel which serves halal buffet spread. Well, that was then .... (before carousel opened heheee...). During Ramadhan, the pipe music here plays Warna - a local malay radio station which airs the Azan. Think it's the only place Muslims will feel at home and welcomed in a grand 5 star hotel where many others are too westernized.
Back to the food, as I said, its hawker buffet spread. You can find Malay, Indian (South & North), Chinese, Nyonya, kuehs, local desserts such as chendol, goreng pisang and many others. A great place to recommend if you like to have such ambience and halal buffet. The staff there are just wonderful, making sure that your finished plates are cleared, smiling, topping up your sky juice without even asking. Professional .......... Local hawker food with a class of service and ambience. And remember to reserve your seats to avoid disappointment. Sorry I forgot the prices ... prob about the same like Carousel. Not cheap !!!
